Smart workflows
We know what processes can be changed, what must be changed, and what cannot be changed. And what steps to take next.

We do not believe in a single, overarching solution for translation processes that can be “modularized” to fit many cases. A process that has worked well for a long time can become completely unusable due to a single new requirement. If this is the case, we develop a new workflow – with the structures, tools, and responsibilities required under the new conditions.

You will not hear us say, “We always do it that way.”

Large translation processes are often planned like the logistics of an ocean freighter: The content must fit into standardized containers so it can be transported as cost-effectively as possible by the existing system. This also means that client must conform to the supplier’s processes and structures. Gemino starts with the content: Form, scope, goal, and specific requirements determine how the workflow is designed. This is more like the Kon-Tiki principle: Each project uses the appropriate means of transport – with the flexibility and technology of a modern ocean-going yacht.

Together with you, we decide whether and which adjustments are appropriate. This ensures that the scope of services, result quality, and budget remain aligned, even when conditions change. For us, smart collaboration means: The process stays flexible without forfeiting reliability. Simply smart.

Smart means being both standardized and flexible

Effective workflows in translation projects run smoothly. Smart workflows achieve more: You connect content, people, and technologies into a process that fits your company and your communication goal. What’s more, you can adjust them to changes when needed. We know what may, might, will, or definitely will not need adjustment later in a translation process, and we design our workflows accordingly.

We integrate content and authoring systems, file formats, and all types of string resources, while also involving your product experts in the target countries. Roles, handoffs, reviews, and approvals seamlessly intertwine. Terminology, UI copy, and documentation remain consistent – even across projects, media, and language versions. In short, Standardization supports repeatability. Flexibility ensures that the specific task – not the standard – determines the approach. We know how both elements work together and put this into practice.

Maximum efficiency with the right mix

Not every text requires the same process. And not every process requires the same people, systems, and technologies. Depending on the project, we combine qualified linguists for specialized translation, revision, and project management with translation memories, terminological databases, and suitable machine translation and AI processes.

Industry, target market, type of content, and intended use define the specific design. Regulatory requirements, target groups, and publication channels also play a role. This results in a workflow that delivers the expected language quality with a reasonable outlay of time and money. Smart also means: Expending effort where it makes a difference to the result.

Our daily business: Always stay flexible

And not just because we like the way it sounds. Dynamic workflows mean exactly that: At Gemino, EVERY standardization must prove itself in daily operations. This is only possible if we can make EVERY necessary adjustment. Adaptability is not an end in itself; it is a working principle.

We organize changes to documents, marketing assets, and other modular content within update workflows. We integrate revised content directly into existing language and production processes, instead of restarting entire workflows. This shortens lead times and reduces both time and cost.

In software, GUI, and HMI localization, we link user interface texts directly to the corresponding documentation. We support short development and release cycles with flexible translation processes to accompany sprints. This allows you to control quality, consistency, deadlines, and budget even while making ongoing changes – regardless of which on- and offline media and content you internationalize.
