Corporate Language
A translation always begins with the source language. Generally speaking, this is one and the same as the language in which you conduct business. Ideally, it is also your corporate language. Whether you have already formally defined your corporate language, or have already compiled a corporate language manual, we’d love to help you develop your language.
This can have a positive impact on many levels. The efficiency and quality of any translation is considerably better if the source text—or rather, the language of the source text—is of high quality. But what do we mean by “high quality” in this context?
It depends greatly on the nature and purpose of the text in question. In most cases, it is important for source texts to use terminology in a consistent manner. Sometimes language and definitions also need to be used consistently in a pre-defined way; only then can your brand appear in an appealing linguistic guise—including in target language markets.
With technical texts, simplicity and consistency are the order of the day if the translation is to be correct and efficient. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation need to be flawless. All this has a huge influence on the impact of your brand – in your source language as well as in all the target languages you require.
The source language can be controlled in a number of ways: it can be controlled manually, by experienced copywriters and linguists, or with the aid of software.
But it’s also possible to make a big impact with relatively little effort. We’d be delighted to share our expertise with you: Just ask us!
