Gemino exhibits at MEDICA 2022 in Düsseldorf
For the first time, Gemino had its own booth at MEDICA, the world’s largest medical trade fair. Four intensive trade fair days with many interesting technical discussions are behind us.
More than 80,000 visitors and around 5000 exhibitors met in the exhibition halls in Düsseldorf from 14 to 17 November 2022. The halls were accordingly well filled and, in part, reached pre-Covid levels again.
Our consulting team used the four days of the fair intensively for discussions with professionals and the presentation of our services – both at the Gemino booth and with other exhibitors at their booths. Our ISO 13485 certification planned for the beginning of next year received a particularly positive response.
Identified trends
In the various discussions and during walks through the halls, it became clear that digitization and digital platforms are continuing to gain momentum in the healthcare sector. Numerous offerings are being developed for the patient journey and digital patient records as well as to digitize processes in the field of regulatory affairs.
And wearables are definitely the new black: A rapidly growing market is emerging around wearable devices that measure health data. There was a large joint booth at the trade show dedicated to this topic with more than 40 exhibitors showing a wide range of different technologies and application areas.
Our conclusion
With regard to languages services, we see great potential in the relentless growth of digitization. We can effectively contribute our many years of experience with the localization of software in the area of health platforms and apps. Optimal use of the correct technical terminology continues to be of great importance in this context.
In some areas, such as HCP and patient communication, there is an emerging need for specialized solutions in conjunction with customized machine translation, including in the context of chatbots. We are therefore planning to expand our portfolio accordingly.
